CWN Marine Partners with Historic Minesweeper AMS 60 Bernisse to Preserve Dutch Naval Heritage

CWN Marine is proud to announce its partnership with the AMS 60 Bernisse, a 72-year-old Beemster-class minesweeper that has played a vital role in Dutch naval history. Built in 1953 and stationed at Koningskade 6 in Hellevoetsluis, the Bernisse is maintained by a dedicated group of volunteers and serves as a living museum and tribute to the Netherlands’ maritime past.

The vessel, which has been sweeping mines since the Second World War era, is one of the last of its kind. CWN Marine supports the Bernisse by sponsoring critical navigation and communication equipment, as well as assisting with technical maintenance to ensure the ship remains operational and well-preserved for future generations.

“We are honoured to contribute to preserving a piece of naval history,” said a CWN Marine Technical Director, Willem Auret. “The AMS 60 Bernisse is not just a ship, it’s a floating monument to the craftsmanship, courage, and commitment of generations past.”

To mark the ongoing partnership and to encourage wider public support, CWN Marine is launching a donor incentive programme:

For every €100 donated to the AMS 60 Bernisse, CWN Marine will offer €20 off Simrad products, up to a maximum of €2000.

Members of the public are invited to visit the Bernisse at her fixed mooring in Hellevoetsluis and explore her legacy firsthand. Donors and supporters can sign up for the newsletter and learn more about contributing to the ship’s preservation here.
